The Department of Languages and Cultures of the Middle East (TCMO) offers a bachelor-master with the main focus on Modern Standard Arabic and Modern Israeli Hebrew in combination with the cultures and religions of Islam and Judaism. Main subjects of Middle Eastern studies in Groningen are Arabic and Hebrew, Arabo-Islamic Culture and Jewish Culture, with much emphasis on the characteristics of these cultures and the peoples involved. Any student who accomplishes his Middle East studies will have acquired the knowledge and expertise with regard to all aspects concerning the modern Middle East. Scientific research includes a wide variety of cultural and literary studies of the Middle East. |
