| Mission |
SRON Netherlands Institute for Space Research is the Dutch expertise center for space research. The institute develops and uses innovative technology for groundbreaking scientific research in space, focusing on astrophysical research, Earth science and planetary research. In addition to this, SRON has a line of research into new sensitive sensors for X-rays and infrared radiation which now rank among the most sensitive in the world. |

Het SRON-instituut bestaat uit twee vestigingen: SRON Utrecht en SRON Groningen (adres: Landleven 12, 9747 AD Groningen; Postbus 800, 9700 AV Groningen; tel. +31-50-3634074). De SRON heeft in 1983 de taken overgenomen van de in 1960 ingestelde Commissie voor Geofysica en Ruimteonderzoek. |
