| Mission |
The Centre for Environmental Law was established in 1987, as part of the Law Faculty of the University of Amsterdam. The Centre aims to meet the growing demand for environmental law expertise in practice, training, research and public policy development, and to advance understanding of the role law plays in curbing environmental degradation. As such the Centre contributes to the reform and development of environmental law and policy. It promotes, facilitates and publishes research into the legal and policy dimensions of environmental issues. It also provides consultancy services to public and private sector organisations and community groups. The Centre's primary task at the University of Amsterdam is to implement a community-oriented programme of scientific research and education in environmental law and policy. |
