Aletta, Institute for Women's History, aims to increase knowledge and to promote research on the position of women. This is our contribution to the emancipation of women and to improving the position of women in all of their diversity. We will achieve these goals by: * Collecting and preserving the cultural heritage of women and the women s movement in the areas of politics, social life and culture, in the past, present and future. * Developing information services that aim to make heritage materials accessible, particularly for users in the fields of academic research and education. * Promoting our collection to advance women s studies and feminist perspectives in all fields of academic study. * Promoting the visibility, accessibility and use of information on the position of women, both in the Netherlands and throughout the world, by initiating and coordinating collaborative projects and also by promoting women s libraries, archives and other types of information services. |
