The research school Experimental Psychopathology (EPP) offers post-graduate training for PhD candidates in the field of experimental psychopathology, that is the study of causal mechanisms in the origins, maintenance and recovery (including treatment) of psychopathology. The main focus is on (bio)psychological explanations of psychopathology and its recovery, and experiments are used to unravel causal mechanisms. Psychopathology covers a wide range of mental health problems; EPP focuses on emotional disorders (anxiety, depression), personality disorders, eating disorders, addiction, somatoform disorders, sexual disorders, forensic disorders, and related psychopathology in children and youths. In addition to organizing education for PhD candidates, EPP aims to facilitate research cooperation between EPP-researchers from the 9 participating universities. |
