| Mission |
The Graduate Research Institute EPOS was established by the University of Amsterdam, the Free University Amsterdam and the University of Leiden to foster and strengthen research and graduate training in the area of experimental psychology. The emphasis is on the experimental study of man as an adaptive information-processing system. The major research areas are: 1. cognition, memory and language; 2. attention, perception and cognitive control; 3. psychobiology of disorders and individual differences. EPOS has a four-year graduate training program that offers students the opportunity to specialize in a variety of areas, including basic cognitive processes, energetic aspects, physiological processes, as well as developmental and clinical aspects of cognitive processes. In december 1994 EPOS was recognized by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW). |
