| Mission |
The Graduate School 'Experimental Plant Sciences' (EPS) is a collaborative research and teaching institution of Wageningen University (WU), Radboud University Nijmegen (RUN), Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU), Leiden University (LU), University of Amsterdam (UvA), Utrecht University (UU) and University of Groningen (RUG). EPS was founded in 1992 in order to organize and coordinate the fundamental and strategic plant research of the collaborating universities, aiming at the development of new principles in crop breeding, crop protection and crop growth for sustainable agriculture and horticulture. EPS facilitates the training and teaching of PhD students in these fields by organizing PhD courses, seminars, symposia, meetings, workshops and summer schools. EPS received first accreditation as a Graduate School by the Royal Dutch Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1993, and was re-accredited in 1998, 2003 and 2010. |
