Mission	The Research School Ius Commune investigates international and transnational juridical problems. The research follows three main lines: 1. The role of law in politics (policy) and in the practical situation (implementaion) of international integration. 2. Good and bad effects of international integration on common characteristics (ius commune) and specific characteristics of national juridical culture and juridical systems (law culture). 3. Can the fundamentals of democracy and legal state be the leading point of view and yardstick to assess processes of international integration (i.e. fundamentals of democracy and legal state are fundamental to a ius commune), in the case of public law and in the case of civil law (civil rights and basic rights elaborating into civil law)?
