| Mission |
The Dutch Cancer Society is the private organization for cancer control in the Netherlands. It consists of a nationwide network of local committees, involved in the annual door-knocking campaign. This campaign, donations by private persons, lotteries, industry-oriented campaigns and legacies result in a budget of about 91 million euro per year. The Dutch Cancer Society spends about 80% of its budget on cancer research and on training of professionals in cancer research and treatment of cancer. Besides, The Dutch Cancer society spends about 20% of the annual budget on prevention and patient support. |
