| Mission |
The Animal Sciences Group has a university section where students are taught to be animal scientists and biologists with an international reputation. Every year there is an intake of about 130 BSc and 60 MSc students, and there are about 120 PhD students. Research and education contribute to developing sustainable and socially accepted animal husbandry and fisheries where the focus is on the health and welfare of animals in all their functions. The research is undertaken in the WIAS graduate school the Wageningen Institute of Animal Sciences - and many publications appear in top scientific journals. |
