Mission	The research programme of the Environmental Policy Group focuses on processes of environment induced social change within the organisation of (agro-industrial)production and consumption in modern industrial societies as well as in non-OECD-countries. The objects, instruments and actors involved in environmental policy processes are studied with the help of sociological concepts and theories, especially the theory of ecological modernisation and the theory of the risk society. The research is clustered around five themes: the ecological modernisation of production and consumption sustainable lifestyles and patterns of consumption environmental risks, technology and society international and comparative environmental politics green environment.
