| Mission |
The research program of the Rural Sociology Group covers four domains, interrelated in thematic, theoretical and methodological respect. Short characteristics of these four domains: 1.Reconstructing rurality: how nowadays rural areas are being represented, contested and transformed in rural discourses and policies. 2.Transformation processes in agriculture: examining social relations of production (including vertical integration), strategies of farm development and ecological modernisation. 3.Farming as co-production of agriculture and biodiversity: investigating the interrelations between farming and qualities of nature, landscape and biodiversity. 4.Consumer driven food chains: examining social processes that construct and define the quality of food production and consumption. |
