The research activities of the Applied Computer Science Group are organised inthree clusters. Modeling and Simulation: Research in the cluster "modeling and simulation" aims at developing tools and methods, building models, performing simulation studies and at participating in discussions on a sound theoretical foundation of the underlying paradigm. Information and Knowledge Management: The activities in the Information and knowledge management cluster are characterised by keywords such as information modeling, data-modeling, knowledge representation, corporate memories, meta data management and educational technology. Supply Chain Management and ICT: Most information systems research has been oriented on information systems and information management within companies. Therefore the research efforts of the Applied Computer Science Group are driven by the challenges of information based co-operation in agri-food chains. Typical projects in this research cluster are related to food chain configuration, architecture and implementation of chain information systems and chain decision support systems. |
