| Mission |
COEURs mission is to conduct and promote world-class cardiovascular research, and to train future leaders in the cardiovascular field, ultimately aiming at improved quality of life of the general population and, in particular, new and better perspectives for patients with diseases of the blood vessels and the heart. To achieve this mission, COEUR is structured to conduct innovative research and to provide high quality training in research related to the cardiovascular system. The research programs include a wide spectrum of disciplines, all focused on elements of cardiovascular disease, including cardiac and vascular (molecular) biology, (patho)physiology, pharmacology and biomedical engineering, leading to prevention, detection, diagnosis and management of cardiovascular disease. COEUR recognizes the need for an interactive, multi-disciplinary approach to achieve optimal results, encouraging national and international collaboration. |
