| Abstract | This article examines the differences between Dutch and German retail price setting. The study is based on an econometric approach in the sense that the estimates of the coefficients of a one-equation model explaining retail profit margins are compared. Extensive datasets are used for both the Dutch and German case, allowing a general comparison between the two countries to be made. An ex post interpretation of the differences in coefficients found is given. |
