| This PhD project aims to describe and explain the language contacts between Russian and Nenets and Komi. All these three languages are spoken in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, which forms the eastern part of the huge Archangel District. This area of the North of Russia was completely closed in Soviet times, and the new possibilities to move more freely through the country make it now possible to do research in an area where linguistic research was almost impossible for Western researches for more than 70 years. |
