| Concerning premalignant lesion in the distal oesophagus the investigation aims on the one hand at the determination of prognostic parameters in Barrett epithelium, that can predict if malignity will arise; on the other hand at the treatment of Barrett epithelium by photodynamic methods. Regarding the colon carcinoma research is done on effective screening and intervention stategies. Mediators of inflammation in Crohn's disease and colitis ulcerosa are investigated concerning their mutual interaction, and effects by drugs are evaluated. Clinical research is done into the effects of somatostatine and IL-10. |
