| The research traditionally has two themes: 1) the pathogenesis and pathophysiology of glomerular diseases and vasculitides with the goal to develop effective modalities to treat inflammatory processes in the kidney and vessel walls (19.1); 2) the immunological processes responsible for rejection in renal and pancreatic allografts and to develop immunosuppressive protocols that result in favourable graft function and fewer complications (19.2). These goals are implemented by epidemiological, clinical, histochemical and immunological approaches. |
