| - Objectives: Assessment of the predictive value of clinical and laboratory variables and inflammatory mediators measured early in the course of patients with fever on the ultimate course of the patients (e.g. development of microbial infection, shock, mortality). - Results: 300 patients have been included. Some clinical variables and mediators can predict the presence of bacteremia and the further fate of the patients. Data are in further analysis, particularly concerning granzyme blood levels. Currently, the predictive value of circulating primary inflammatory factors and of markers of coagulation/fibrinolysis are under scrutiny. |
