Abstract

The aim of this study is to improve the evidence base and efficacy of referral of persons with neuromuscular diseases to OT, PT and ST to NMD with several research projects: ? Comparative cohort study in which the usual allied health care (OT, PT and ST) (n=106) is compared with allied health care based on an integrated multidisciplinary advice (n=102. ? Three systematic reviews on the effectiveness of respectively OT, PT and ST in neuromuscular diseases. ? Implementation study in which the extent of implementation and possible obstacles for implementing advice from a neuromuscular centre to OT, PT and ST in primary care or rehabilitation setting are identified. ? Qualitative study to increase insight in the impact of myotonic dystrophy on daily life of couples of which one of them has myotonic dystrophy.

Het project beoogt een structuur tot stand te brengen waarin de paramedische afdelingen Ergotherapie, Fysiotherapie en Logopedie op grond van consultaties en na multiprofessioneel overleg een behandeladvies uitbrengen voor paramedische behandeling in de eerstelijn.
