| One of the most prominent developments in the field of medical technology is the movement and adaptation of equipment from hospital to home. The rise of home care technology, which rests both on the widespread wish to receive care at home and on budgetary considerations, has many positive sides, but raises normative problems as well. Research of such problems has been started internationally during the last years. Aim of this study is to gain insight into the normative aspects of such technology on the basis of two forms of home care high-tech for patients with respiratory problems. Emphasis will be on the normative, technology incorporated, views on good life with chronic respiratory problems. We expect to offer a new perspective on the relation between policy, ethics and technology development. |
