Analysis of conditions leading to gullies found under forest: case-study Meerdaal forest (Belgium)
10 / 2000 - 10 / 2004
[Context]: Under forests in central Belgium, large gullies can be found. Little is known about the conditions (e.g. extreme rain events, different land use or a combination of both) leading to their development. [Aim]: To reconstruct the conditions leading to the development of large gullies. [Methods]: Mapping of gullies and controlling factors, comparative studies between gullies developing in arable land and old gullies found under forest, statistical analysis, modelling.
