| At this moment the department of Dermatology is in the process of major reorganisation in order to optimise the infrastructure of our care unit, the care itself for the patients and the profile of the research projects. Our future scientific efforts will be focused on oncology and inflammation. At present time we will first fulfil the requirements and explore the research possibilities. Our first step towards the research target consists mainly on in vivo, ex vivo and in vitro studies on monomethylfumarate, which is the most bioactive metabolite in the experimental systemic fumarate therapy in psoriasis. For the in vitro studies several cellular experimental models, monocyte derived dendritic cells, human keratinocytes and human granulocytes are employed. The effects of monomethylfumarate on gene transcription and its regulation by specific transcription factors will also be studied |
