Abstract

The interaction between chemokines and chemokine receptors is crucial for the migration and recirculation of lymphocytes and dendritic cells during local and systemic inflammation. It is attempted to identify changes in the chemokine system equilibrium of end-stage heart failure patients, who undergo heart transplantation, and patients with ischemic heart disease, who undergo coronary artery bypass grafting via cardiopulmonary bypass. The results are aimed at predicting acute rejection and/or transplant coronary artery disease after clinical heart transplantation.
