| The project aims at making accessible the voluminous, but unexplored area of Middle Dutch sermons. These sermons are to be considered as one of the major genres of Middle Dutch spiritual literature, next to hagiographies, bible translations, books of prayer, and mystical literature. A first inventory of the more than 800 manuscripts, scattered over a number of libraries, has shown that there is rich material in more than 4000 sermons. |
