By the year 2008, all public transport in the Netherlands will be connected with seamless smart card. The question is asked, how can smart card impact the transportation network yield? This research aims to explore the opportunities of the information technology adoption to the public transport operators; justify the impacts to the transportation network performance (focusing on the yield). Survey as well as simulation methods are employed in this research.
