Abstract

This research aims at linking for the first time the 5000 years old Mesopotamian cuneiform lists of animal names with Linnaeus's zoological systematics of 1758. This early scientific classification will fill the gaps in our historical knowledge of zoology.

Dit onderzoek beoogt voor het eerst de 5000 jaar oude Mesopotamische spijkerschriftlijsten van dierennamen te verbinden met Linnaeus' zo├Âlogische systematiek van 1758. Deze vroeg-wetenschappelijke classificatie zal de hiaten dichten in onze historische kennis van de zo├Âlogie.
