| The research programmma CATCH, Continuous Access to Cultural Heritage, aims at providing new solutions for accessing digital collections. These solutions require the development of computer techniques, based on questions from the world of cultural heritage. CATCH is a demand driven research programme, and focuses on the support of collection managers of cultural heritage institutions. The products from the CATCH research programme will be new knowledge and software (tools). The programme comprises three themes: - Semantic operability through metadata; - Knowledge enrichment through automated analyses; - Personalisation through presentation. The programme is a joint initiative of the boards of the NWO Divisions of Physical Sciences and Humanities, the Netherlands Institute for Image and Sound, the Royal Library, the National Archive, the National Museum of Natural History (Naturalis), the National Service for Archaeological Heritage and the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. |
