Abstract

The IMIX programme aims at enhancing the strategic-fundamental knowledge in the field of Dutch language and speech technology and the application thereof in multimodal and/or multimedia systems. Four specific priority research themes have been defined: a) automatic speech recognition in the context of multimodal interaction; b) dialogue management and reasoning; c) language-centric presentation of information in multimodal systems; d) information extraction (question-answering). The results of the research programme will be integrated in an IMIX demonstrator, i.e. a multimodal question-answering dialogue system. Focus will be on the medical information domain.
