| This study is about the process of creation and enforcement of social and labour rights, in the form of labour law, in Indonesia, and how such process has reflected the actual process of social and political change in the country. It aims at explaining the changing labour law in the country's "Reformasi" era (1998- ), the inter-relationship between labour law and economic development, and the way the Indonesian government has attempted to provide an "appropriate framework" within which policies of industrialisation and economic growth can be pursued, and to provide protection to the Indonesian workers. |
