| Aim of the STEVIN programme (Speech and language technological essential data and facilities in Dutch) is to stimulate the language and speech technological sectors in Flanders and The Netherlands, in order to enhance the innovation capacity of this sector as well as the position of Dutch in the modern information and communication world. The specific goals of STEVIN are the following: - realise implementation of an adequate digital language infrastructure in Dutch, based on a priority list; - carry out strategic research in the field of language and speech technology, particularly in the domains where there is a high demand of concrete speech and language technological applications; - further stimulation of networking, creation of focal points and embedding, the education of new experts, the stimulation of demand and knowledge transfer and the adequate handling of intellectual property rights. |
