Abstract

The burning away of tumours, e.g. with laser light or ultrasound, is a promising alternative for surgery. It will be studied whether heating due the intervention can be measured with a MRI scanner, so that the burning away process can be controlled.

Het wegbranden van tumoren, bijvoorbeeld met laserlicht of ultrageluid, is een veelbelovend alternatief voor opereren. Er wordt onderzocht of de verhitting tijdens de ingreep kan worden gemeten met een MRI-scanner, waardoor het wegbranden kan worden gecontroleerd en gestuurd.
