| Cultural heritage collections are mostly indexed on the basis of strongly divergent metadata terms. This severely hampers the combination and opening up of such collections. The STITCH project focuses on new theory, methods and tools for metadata interoperability by making semantic links between the metadata terms. Such interoperability will enable uniform access to heterogeneous collections and contribute to the opening up of cultural heritage. STITCH is strongly problem driven and the results will cover the complete research cycle, from theoretical contributions to the development of a new interface. |
