| Our research on workload control aims at designing effective control mechanisms for small and medium sized discrete manufacturing firms. Many firms have problems with managing shop floor throughput times. The field of workload control designs methods to support decision makers within the firm in their task of accepting and releasing work to the shop floor. The work is both of theoretical and practical value. We develop and apply tools that can be used when diagnosing the lead-time performance, improving the release function, and controlling progress of work. |
