| Systems that face dependencies require coordination. Traditionally, three types of interdependencies are being distinguished: pooled, sequential and reciprocal. Our research focuses on these types of interdependencies within production systems. We examine the dependencies between three design subsystems: product design, production systems design, and (reverse) supply chain design. Topics such as concurrent engineering, design for disassembly, design for recovery, and reduction of the time-to-market are being studied for their relevance and possible extensions. |
