Abstract

All Dutch children learn English as a second language at primary school, from fifth grade onwards. This project entails a cross-sectional and longitudinal study on the development of a second language in school-aged beginning second language learners and advanced second language learners, using behavioral measures and scalp-recorded ERPs. The project specifically focuses on patterns of cross-language interaction and transfer in lexical and morpho-syntactic processing.
