Title Operational evapotranspiration estimations for hydrological applications using MSG and ENVISAT data
Period 08 / 2004 - 06 / 2006
Status Completed
Research number OND1307856
Data Supplier ITC

Abstract

The general goal of the EVAPO-MSG project is to set-up operational tools to support the observation and monitoring of climate change effects on the water balance of semi-arid areas using a combination of remote sensing estimations and a hydrological model. Application of the improved evapotranspiration estimations in a calibrated hydrological model will demonstrate the added value of earth observation products for the study of the hydrological cycle. In concert with the end-user a set of user requirements will be produced. In this process a cost-benefit analysis will be done to assess the market potential of the final value added products
