Chain cooperation is designed to make chains cheaper and more efficient. However, we know little if anything about what drives chain-players. Management games make it possible to study and learn from chain players mechanisms and motivations. [Sustainable chain cooperation]: Net-Chain Game is a business simulation game for students and businesses wishing to gain an understanding of chain cooperation. It arises from an earlier project of Chain Networks, Clusters and ICT (KLICT). TransForum is facilitating the current project, which is a variant of the net-chain game for the agri-food sector with the emphasis on sustainability. Together with the Southern Agricultural and Horticultural Association (ZLTO), we are developing a model concerned with the sustainable cultivation, transportation and handling of cucumbers. By studying participants in the chain we seek to obtain an understanding of underlying mechanisms and motivations. This knowledge can then be transferred to businesses so to enable them to cooperate in chains on a sustainable basis. |
