Titel Intestinal colonisation, stress and transmission: unravelling the interrelationships in an animal model
Looptijd 2002 - 2004
Status Afgesloten
Onderzoeknummer OND1310669

Samenvatting (EN)

In this project a comparison is made of stressed and nonstressed host in their response on pathogenic microbes (Salmonella) that colonise the intestine. In particular, an investigation will be made of (i) the molecular cross-talk between the pathogen, the intestinal flora, the intestine and the defence mechanisms active in the intestine, using DNA-microarrays, and (ii) the ability of the host to withstand infection.
