How the workplace affords professional development of teachers and how teachers elect to engage in what the workplace affords needs more fully understood. Research shows that a highly collaborative working culture is often accompanied with a learning culture. Collaborative learning, facilitated by technology, seems to be an important way to trigger a collaborative working culture and enhance teachers? social competencies. Therefore, the problem is:What are the design characteristics of teacher computer-supported collaborative learning in the workplace that efficiently and effectively affects both the development of student teachers? social competences and community building?
