| Within the next 20 years the supply of fossil fuels, mainly oil and natural gas, will not be sufficient any more to provide the world s economies, in particular the fast growing economies of Asia like China and India. The rapidly increasing non-renewable electricity consumption is highly related to the rising application of heating and cooling systems in the build environment. An alternative is available with the direct conversion of sunlight into electricity and thermal energy. In this project the focus will be on the applicability of solar energy for heating and cooling systems in the built environment. |
