Abstract

Within the framework of the GECKO program, this project focusses on the role of chronic low-grade inflammation, a well-recognized feature associated with obesity, in the development of hepatic and peripheral insulin resistance. For this purpose, genetically-modified mouse models available within our laboratory will be employed and novel specific models will be generated.
