| The goals of the project can be formulated as follows: to create a system of interlinked etymological databases containing the inherited vocabulary of various Indo-European branches and to publish them on the Internet; to create an Indo-European etymological database on the Internet; to publish a series of etymological dictionaries of Indo-European languages (containing primarily the inherited vocabulary); to compile a new Indo-European etymological dictionary, which will replace the outdated Indogermanisches etymologisches Wörterbuch by Julius Pokorny (1959). |
