Description: Landscapes are still under pressure in many parts of Europe. One of the problems in those landscapes is the integration of agriculture, nature, water and recreation targets. The project is geared to test the Farming for Nature approach in two pilot areas and monitor and evaluate results together with the stakeholders. Comparable initiatives in Europe are investigated to look for common interests and a common agenda towards national and European policy makers.
Research objectives: The overall research objective is to gain insight into the possibilities of the concept of Farming for Nature to balance nature management, agricultural activities, water management and recreation at farm level. To test feasibility of the approach in other countries and compare it with innovations in those countries. To further develop the concept by means of two pilot areas. Communication and education activities are an additional cornerstone of the project. Underlying objective is to share findings with all interested parties (and thereby strengthen the concept as well) and more in particular with the youth.
Results and products: Monitoring and evaluations results, website, e-newsletters, plans for land management and design, workshop. |
