Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find the material parameter fields at the limits of existence and uniqueness of this type of finite element. Comparison of these fields with the experimentally observed occurrence of material parameters will clarify whether or not higher order material models as Mohr-Coulomb-like elasto-plastic gradient models will be needed in order to simulate the observed material behaviour.
