| Mainly, my Phd project is concerned with two general questions about: 1) the interpersonal effects of communicating discrete emotions 2) the discrete effects of experiencing discrete emotions on information seeking behavior. In accordance with the first question, I investigate whether the communication of discrete emotions results in discrete effects when it comes to judgments about and behavior towards the sender. For example, whether the communication of shame versus regret sorts differential effects when judging a person's integrity. With the second question I attempt to answer whether the experience of discrete emotions, e.g., by specific news reports, results in discrete behavioral effects. For example, whether anxious people compared to angry people are differently motivated to seek a specific type of information, and or differently retain or retrieve this information. |
