Abstract

Approach and activities in 2008Make adjustments in course curriculum and training materials to improve on coherence and integrate lessons learnt from the 2007 course. Link up with ongoing initiatives such as SELS in Netherlands and internationally: e.g. Global Partnership on Forest Landscape Restoration ( ITTO, UNFF,IUCN, WB) Conduct a course from Monday 27/10 - 8/11 2008 with a four day field work component Facilitate a web based forum for community of practice in course application and coaching TimeframeMoU renewed Sept. 2007Course outline revision May 2008Marketing March - September 2008Material Development AugustPre course Mid AugustConduct Course End of October Forum follow-up on course application: November ¿ March 2009 Results Workplan 2007Intensive marketing with projects and institutions has resulted in a high response rate with over 30 applicants for the Netherlands fellowship programme ( resulting in three fellowships) and a total of fourteen fee paying participants. The course will be implemented in Bangkok from 29 October till 10 November 2007. Course materials have been developed with a concept note, a pre-course and various training tools and case materials. Coordination with RECOFT is effective and resulted in a new initiative to establish a network (Community of Practice) of practitioners and researchers to further the landscape approach into practical experiences. The course website has been established and is gradually filling up with the developed course materials.Outputs 2008 to train at least 12 mid-career professionals in forest and nature management
