Abstract

The main aims of this research are to understand life of the Britons outside their own country in the Roman Empire and to reconstruct their self-image, using archaeology and epigraphy. From this, perspective theme concerning the nature of the identity of British population will be analyzed. Being British in the modern sense applies to those people who were born on the British Isles, i.e. in Scotland, Wales or England.
