| We plan on running a cold dark-matter N-body simulation of the local group of galaxies at unprecedented resolution. This calculation is interesting for two main reasons: 1) it will address (and hopefully solve) a long standing problem in cosmology and 2) the calculation will computational be extremely challenging, since it requires the coupling between two of the largest computers on the planet via one of the fastest internet connections in order to perform one very large calculation. |
