| The ultimate goal of the current project is to optimize the efficiency of clinical trials of novel drugs by improving patient stratification and prediction of disease outcome. We aim to achieve this by developing novel biomarker profiles derived from synovial and adipose tissue, that distinguish different subpopulations of OA patients. Erasmus MC we will mainly be involved in setting up in-vitro models to test the effects of adipokines and cytokines secreted by adipose tissue on cartilage metabolism. |
